Drawing from her extensive experience in directing and internationally co-producing documentary films, filmmaker Diana El Jeiroudi is set to present a master class on the dynamics of a strong director-producer relationship during the first module of this year’s Ex Oriente workshop in Varna, Bulgaria, which takes place from 1 to 6 June. 

Diana, one of the four leading mentors for the Ex Oriente workshop alongside Iikka Vehkalahti, Ivana Pauerová Miloševič, and Filip Remunda, and has been guiding participants since last year. Ex Oriente is a prestigious training program for documentary filmmakers, bringing together both directors and producers to work on their projects. 

This year, a cohort of 12 film teams in development and production from Eastern and Central Europe will be supported over the entire 9-month program. 

The first module will be held in Varna, Bulgaria, followed by the second module in Leipzig, Germany, in October 2024, and the third module in Prague during the East Doc Platform in March 2025.
