A CONSULTANCY
QUESTIONS?
-
After booking an appointment, we’ll ask you to send your biography and filmography to get to know you a little. We’ll also need a brief description of the issue you’d like to discuss (a rough cut, a film treatment, an issue within the director-producer dynamics, issues in financing or the release of the film….).
Once we’ve screened those initial pivotal information, we’ll be prepared to run a very effective 45-min session to give you first consultation.
-
It is an imperative to us to keep the content of your emails and our conversations with you strictly confidential. We understand the delicacy of each situation and give particular attention to making you and your team feel comfortable and safe during the entire process. If you have specific concerns, we are happy to learn and willing to adapt.
-
Once we had the intitial session, we’ll be clearer on what type and form of consultancy you need and which course to follow. You’ll be an integral part of this examination with the opportunity to adjust according to your availability, budget and needs.
It all begins with an open and friendly conversation. Let us know what issue(s) you are facing with your film production or co-production, and we’re happy to employ our 20+ years of filmmaking and in international co-production to give detailed feedback and counsel.
View availability and book your first online session with us or one of our team and consultants.
Additional sessions can take place either in person or online, involving activities such as reviewing proposals or budgets, providing notes on preliminary edits or rough cuts, and addressing an array of concerns and queries expressed by your film-teams.
You can book your first consultancy session by writing us an introductory email, we’ll pick up the rest.
We have limited availability, so please bear with us.
-
We will examine your request and the circumstance and check which one of our team or consultants is most suitable. We’ll also check the availability of each. If we find there maybe a conflict of interest we’ll be forthcoming .
-
In principle yes, but we first need an initial consultation session to estimate if we are the right fit to your need.
Once all practicalities are cleared and for the consultancy to be successful and effective, we need to revise your full treatment, director's notes, background story, production and filming schedule, budget and financial plans, and some short audiovisual materials or references.
This dedication from you and from us guarantees a successful process tailored specifically to your film project.
After this, we’ll propose a consultancy package and it could indeed include rough-cut feedback.
-
Please always write to our general email: info [at] no-nation.de.
We try to screen emails as frequently as possible during the week. Your understanding is highly appreciated when we are not able to respond as quickly as you would prefer. In short, we cannot guarantee and answer within the same day.
-
It depends on the nature of consultancy needed and the needs of each film-team. Consultancies range from a few hours to a number of weeks and the cost for a film-team can range from a couple of hundreds to a couple of thousands.
You will be offered a package and a cost estimate after the initial and non-binding consultancy session. This will already take into consideration your budget restraints.
-
Each year our founders offer a number of free consultancies to filmmakers from around the world based on their circumstance and our capacities.
After the initial assessment we’ll be able to tell you if we’re the right consultants for you and if the project or the film team or both, qualify for a discount or a pro-bono.
